Tableau is freeze frame where people show a frozen frame and stay still. this freeze frame we made shows a sunset. 

This is how the game worked, we would had to run around until  Miss E called out a number. Then we would have to get in a group of that number that she called out ,  than she would call out something and than we would have to try make  what she said  with our bodys.

Hello readers. 

this week we started Art Kete. Art Kete is basically were we just make art instead of doing work on Wednesdays. In my opinion Art Kete is fun but somethings I guess annoying. For my Art Kete I am doing Fence Stitching. Fence Stitching is basically just art on a fence. But instead we make a pattern with rubbish bags. Anyways here are my  ideas for the patterns. 

   

Milk plastic....

hey readers this week for science we are turning milk into plastic. (interesting!) 

Aim: make milk into plastic. 

steps :

1. pour 1 cup of milk into a pot or Microwaveable container. 

2. Heat the milk in the microwave or stove. 

3. add 4 teaspoon if white vinegar.  

4. add the hot milk in to the mug with the vinegar. 

5. stir the mixture with a spoon. 

6. stack 4 layers of paper towels on a surface that is safe to get it damp. 

7. scoop out the curd with a spoon and place them on the paper towel. 

8. Fold the paper towel over the curd and press down absorb excess liquid. 

9. knead all curd together into a ball of dough. 

10. colour shape or mold the dough as you like 

11. you can colour you dough with food colouring 

12. you can add glitter to make it sparkle! 

13. you can use cookie cutters to shape your dough. 

14. or you can sculpt the dough with you hands. 

15. what shapes can you create?

16. put all your Creation on a paper towel and let them dry over night. 

17.  now you have turned milk in to plastic.    

Equipment :

1.  stove or oven microwave.  

2. Measuring  cup 

3. Measuring spoon (Tsp)

4. Milk (1 cup ) 

5. Pot that Microwaveable container 

6. wight vinegar 

7. paper towels 

8. spoon 

9. mug

fizzy drink and mentos

Hello readers last week for science we did a experiment with fizzy juice and mentos.    

Aim : to see witch fizzy drink reacts the  most with mentos lollies. 

Height of reaction in cm. 

1. coke - 100 ml 

2. sparkling duet - 2cm 

3. Lemonade -  2cm

Equipment 

1. mentos 

2. coke 

3. Lemonade 

3.  sparkling duet

4. beker 

5. ruler 

method 

1. collected and set up beaker and ruler. 

2. got the 1st liquid and put 100 mls in the beaker 

3. put the mentos in the liquid. 

4. measured the height of the fizz 

5. repeat steps 1-4 with second and third liquids  

skittles

 chromatography is a technique for the separation of a mixture by passing it in solution or suspension through a medium in witch the components move a different rates 

Aim : to separate the colours from   skittles  by using 

 chromatography. 

 

step 1: get your equipment set up ready to pour the 50mls of water  into the s with the skittles 

step 2: place the skittles into the peti dish around the edge 

step 3: pour 50ml water gently into the middle if the petri dish 

step 4: watch as the water removes the dye from the   skittles . see watch colour reaches the middle fastest  

step 5: reccord your results on the table below

 Last week on  Friday we had  'pink shirt day.' You wear pink to spread awareness  of bullying. We do this at Hornby High by being an outstander, which is somebody who  helps and stands up and with for the people that is getting bullied?

Mystery cave 

I can see an old cave . I was curious so I walked close to the cave.I could smell wet grass. I was very nervous to go inside the cave. I felt the cave was going to fall on me.I thought it's not safe going inside the cave. I tried to be brave and walked inside the cave. When I went inside the cave I saw the sun coming down. I didn't have enough time to explore the cave and it was getting dark. I could see the vines twirling and spreading everywhere inside the cave. I looked to the left and I saw the leaves. I looked on my right and saw vines spreading out. I touched the leaves and it was very dry. I grabbed my water bottle and sprinkled water on the leaves. This was my discovery in the cave. Matariki stars

Hi my name is Risha from Wrigram Primary School  My class is  learning about Matariki stars. Just in case you don't know what is Matariki stars  its the 7 stars as you see in my picture its in yellow. This was fun to do but it got a little tricky at smudging part  it all worked out. I used this to create my ART. pastels ,black paper we made our own stencils with paper. It was fun you guys have to try it.
